Journalist Roxana Saberi urges Iran to free Silva Haroutunian

PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 24 American journalist Roxana Saberi called on Iranian authorities to release Silva Haroutunian, a humanitarian worker for IREX in Iran, arrested in Tehran a year ago.



Silva Haroutounian was detained on June 28, 2008 accused for incentive to "soft revolution". She was condemned for 3 years of imprisonment.



Roxana Saberi called Iranian authorities to release Silva Haroutunian, who is an innocent victim of intelligence services, a news conference organized in Paris on June 24. "I know Silva Haroutounian is innocent," Hadi Ghaemi, Director of the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran said. "I have seen final verdict and studied the legal procedure documents," he said.



As the French journalist Jean Eckian told a PanARMENIAN.Net advocacy news conference for release of Silva Haroutunian was organized in Paris after a protest rally a day before.
