Defense Ministry denies Jermuk position claim

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Defense Ministry has denied a video circulating online claiming that “a military position in the Jermuk section has been handed over,” calling the information disinformation.

“In a video circulated earlier by one of the members of the Strong Armenia party, an as yet unidentified individual falsely claims that a military position of the Armenian Armed Forces was recently handed over in the Jermuk section. We state that this is disinformation,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also urged law enforcement bodies to examine the video and the information contained in it in order to provide a legal assessment.

Earlier, Strong Armenia party member Alik Aleksanyan shared a video in which an unidentified individual, claiming to be a participant in the 44-day war, said he had been in Jermuk last month and had been told that a position would be handed over: “On May 8, they gave the position to the Turks.”
