Police search Prosperous Armenia office in Vanadzor

PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 26, law enforcement officers searched the Vanadzor office of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PPA) within the framework of a criminal case involving alleged vote-buying and vote-selling. Ten people were detained.

Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed the information, Factor.am reported.

“In response, we inform you that within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia regarding alleged cases of giving and receiving election bribes, 10 individuals have been detained. Preventive measures in the form of detention were applied to three of them, while one individual was placed under house arrest,” the committee said.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and elections will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal request, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. Ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
