Searches target Gyumri ARFS office and homes

PanARMENIAN.Net - Searches are being conducted at the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) office in Gyumri, ARF Supreme Body representative and Hayastan alliance lawmaker Ishkhan Saghatelyan announced on his Facebook page.

“At this moment, searches are being carried out at the ARF office in Gyumri and at the homes of our colleagues,” he wrote, according to Panorama.am .

Saghatelyan stressed that the actions of the current administration, particularly what he described as recent unlawful attempts to disrupt the normal activities of opposition campaign headquarters, are “desperate steps aimed at influencing the will of voters and the outcome of the elections.”

“We therefore call on all our teammates, regardless of the circumstances, to continue carrying out their work without interruption.

We ask all our compatriots not to yield to any threats under any circumstances and to respond to all these unlawful actions by participating in the elections and rejecting a regime that does not wish to respect the will of the people,” Saghatelyan wrote.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and elections will be held on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal application, based on which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. As a result, ballot paper number 13 will not be included in the upcoming elections.
