She said she is looking forward to the launch of the joint EU-Armenia working group agreed upon on June 4 by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. “EU financial support, trade measures, and solidarity will help ease the pressure. I look forward to returning to Armenia soon,” she wrote. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen previously announced that the European Union would provide Armenia with €50 million in immediate assistance. She said she had discussed Russian restrictions imposed on Armenia during a phone call with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. According to von der Leyen, following Russia’s restrictions on flower imports from Armenia, a new export route has already been arranged, and the first shipment of 10,000 flowers is scheduled to arrive in Latvia on June 5, with additional deliveries expected to follow. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
