Osipyan votes from Nubarashen prison

PanARMENIAN.Net - Arthur Osipyan, who has been on a hunger strike for 21 days, cast his vote at Nubarashen Penitentiary Institution.

Asked about his health condition, he replied that he was feeling “excellent.” After that, prison staff did not allow him to answer additional questions, according to Hetq.

Osipyan was detained on May 18, 2026, following an altercation with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The incident occurred during the election campaign when Osipyan approached the prime minister and criticized him.

Pashinyan responded with harsh language, saying:

“Get lost, you scoundrel. You should have gone and died in place of our boys. You’re looting animals. Why are you alive if you’re talking about another five thousand victims?”

Regular National Assembly elections are underway in Armenia. The country’s 2,005 polling stations opened at 8:00 a.m. The voter registry includes 2,485,851 registered voters. Polling stations will remain open until 8:00 p.m.

A total of 18 political forces are participating in the parliamentary elections: two electoral alliances and 16 political parties. The electoral threshold is 4% for parties and 8% for alliances.
