Tonoyan says recount boosts Prosperous Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - There are no practical obstacles preventing Prosperous Armenia from entering parliament, party spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan said, citing the results of ongoing vote recounts.

Iveta Tonoyan, spokesperson for the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), commented on the recount process and its results in a Facebook post, stating that there is no obstacle preventing the party from securing representation in the National Assembly.

“As a result of the recounts conducted over the past two days, the Prosperous Armenia Party has already gained 140 additional votes.

This means that the electoral rights of at least 140 citizens are being upheld, and their votes will be fairly reflected in the final election outcome.

Following working cooperation with our colleagues at the Central Electoral Commission, the process of restoring votes is currently underway. Recounts continue at various polling stations.

These figures demonstrate that, both in practical terms and from the standpoint of common sense, there is no obstacle that would prevent Prosperous Armenia from being represented in the National Assembly,” she wrote.

According to preliminary results, the votes were distributed as follows: Civil Contract received 49.825 percent, Strong Armenia 23.281 percent, the Armenia Alliance 9.934 percent, and Prosperous Armenia 3.996 percent. Updated figures indicate that Prosperous Armenia has not crossed the 4 percent threshold required for parties to enter parliament, and the party has requested recounts in several polling stations.
