Four Prosperous Armenia ballots invalidated in Martuni

PanARMENIAN.Net - Four ballots cast in favor of the Prosperous Armenia Party at three polling stations in Martuni were declared invalid due to improperly attached holographic markers, according to party spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan.

The ballots were invalidated at polling stations 21/04, 21/05 and 21/34.

“We have already presented our objections on this issue to the Central Electoral Commission, because the improper placement of a holographic marker cannot in any way be considered the voter’s fault. Responsibility lies with the relevant commission member or the person responsible for counting the ballots.

Therefore, it is unacceptable for a citizen to lose the value of their vote because of circumstances over which they had no influence,” Tonoyan stated.

According to preliminary results, the votes were distributed as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825 percent, Strong Armenia — 23.281 percent, Armenia Alliance — 9.934 percent, and Prosperous Armenia — 3.996 percent. Updated figures indicate that Prosperous Armenia remains below the 4 percent threshold required for parties to enter parliament and has requested recounts at several polling stations.
