Strong Armenia to seek annulment of election results![]() June 11, 2026 - 18:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Strong Armenia alliance will apply to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) seeking the annulment of the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections, according to party council member Narek Karapetyan. “Tomorrow we will apply to the CEC so that the commission invalidates the election results and reviews the votes received by the Civil Contract party. If we do not receive a prompt response, we will apply to the Constitutional Court,” Karapetyan said. He added that recounts had allegedly revealed significant decreases in the number of votes attributed to the ruling Civil Contract party in numerous polling stations. “You saw with your own eyes how soldiers were being directed and taken to vote. We must cut Civil Contract’s wings in Armenia. Civil Contract is already a political force that has lost its majority. Even with all these election violations, it is a force without three-fifths of the seats and cannot amend the Constitution at Aliyev’s instruction. But we will go further to ensure that the results are reviewed,” Karapetyan said. According to preliminary results, votes were distributed as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825 percent, Strong Armenia — 23.281 percent, Armenia Alliance — 9.934 percent, and Prosperous Armenia — 3.996 percent. Updated figures indicate that Prosperous Armenia has not crossed the 4 percent threshold required for parties and has requested recounts at several polling stations. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
