Trade data show growing imports from Azerbaijan![]() June 17, 2026 - 16:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The value of goods exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia during January–May 2026 totaled approximately $11.2 million, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee. In May alone, exports from Azerbaijan to Armenia amounted to $1.6 million, Media.az reported. During the same period, Armenia indirectly exported goods worth $960 to Azerbaijan. According to the data, no exports from Armenia to Azerbaijan were recorded in May. Armenian officials have recently commented on imports of Azerbaijani fuel, linking economic exchanges to broader regional cooperation efforts. Earlier, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan addressed the issue of imports of Azerbaijani gasoline, stating: “As far as I understand, the purchase of gasoline is very beneficial for Armenian citizens. I saw calls for a boycott, but I also learned that there were queues for that gasoline.” Asked why Azerbaijan was supplying gasoline to Armenia at low prices, Mirzoyan replied: “Because peace has been established and cooperation should be developed. Cargo from Azerbaijan and Turkey should pass through our territory, and ours should also transit through theirs.” Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
