Davit Ghazinyan stripped of parliamentary immunity

PanARMENIAN.Net - Davit Ghazinyan, a parliamentary candidate from the Strong Armenia alliance, has been stripped of immunity, according to Radar Armenia.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved a request submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office and gave its consent to the termination of Ghazinyan’s immunity.

Earlier, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee stated that it had obtained factual data indicating that Ghazinyan, acting in prior agreement with a group of supporters, allegedly provided election bribes to voters.

The allegations are part of an ongoing criminal investigation into suspected electoral offenses following the parliamentary elections.

The Anti-Corruption Committee has reported that investigative measures produced evidence suggesting that Ghazinyan and several associates were involved in activities aimed at influencing voters through the alleged distribution of election bribes. The investigation remains ongoing.
