Pashinyan says Gyumri election scenarios under review![]() June 17, 2026 - 18:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that the government is developing and discussing various scenarios related to the possibility of holding early elections in Gyumri. “We are currently working on this, discussing and developing specific scenarios, and we will proceed based on those scenarios. Of course, they will become public,” Pashinyan said, according to Factor.am . According to the prime minister, it is difficult at this stage to provide a specific timetable because the new parliament and government must first be formed before decisions on subsequent steps can be finalized. “I cannot give exact dates right now. First, the parliament will be formed, then the new government will be formed, and only after that... But I can say one thing: from today, we are already implementing what we promised the people of Gyumri. I instructed the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure on the very next day after our visit to Gyumri. In essence, we are currently working on sections where city streets also have the status of interstate or republican roads. In other words, we are carrying out work in Gyumri today regardless of everything else. I have said that I personally take responsibility before the people of Gyumri for the city’s condition. We have already started this work and will continue it. We will provide additional clarification on the other issues later,” he said. The issue of early elections in Gyumri was raised by Pashinyan during the parliamentary election campaign. Pashinyan had previously stated during the election campaign that there was a need to hold early elections in Gyumri. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
