PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Tennis Europe President Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen to discuss prospects for the development of tennis in Armenia.

The meeting was also attended by Vardan Zakaryan, President of the Tennis Federation of Armenia.

The president highlighted the importance of cooperation between Tennis Europe and the Tennis Federation of Armenia, stressing that it contributes to the development of tennis in the country, its wider promotion, and increased interest in the sport, particularly among children and young people.

Khachaturyan noted that the Armenian government places a high priority on the development of sports and expanding youth participation. To achieve this goal, the state has been consistently implementing measures aimed at improving sports infrastructure, including the construction and modernization of gymnasiums and sports complexes in schools and other educational institutions.

Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen said he was pleased to visit Armenia again. He highly praised the efforts made in recent years to develop tennis in the country and said he was particularly impressed by the improvements carried out at the Tsaghkadzor Tennis Complex. In his view, the fact that the complex has already hosted international tournaments has become an important foundation for the sport’s continued progress and growing public interest in tennis.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on expanding international cooperation and creating more favorable conditions for young athletes.
