Vahagn Aleksanyan nominated for deputy speaker

PanARMENIAN.Net - Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of Armenia's Civil Contract party and a member of parliament, has been nominated for the post of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. He announced the nomination himself while speaking with reporters, according to Radar Armenia.

Aleksanyan said there is no tension within the party, adding that the internal elections proceeded very smoothly.

Following discussions and a closed secret ballot at a meeting of the Civil Contract party board, Ruben Rubinyan was selected as the party's candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly. After the meeting, Armenian Prime Minister and Civil Contract board chairman Nikol Pashinyan informed reporters of the decision.
