Armenia, U.S. sign AI cooperation statement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and the United States signed a joint declaration on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) on June 25 at the Donald Trump U.S. Institute of Peace.

The document was signed during the Pax Silica Summit by Armenia's Ambassador to the United States, Narek Mkrtchyan, and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jacob Helberg, the Armenian Embassy in the United States reported.

According to the embassy, the partnership reflects the two countries' shared commitment to shaping a trusted and innovation-driven AI future that promotes prosperity, economic security, and technological advancement.

The joint declaration is built around three key priorities.

The first is promoting innovation-friendly regulation. The parties plan to support policies and stakeholders that encourage AI innovation, investment, entrepreneurship, and the secure testing, deployment, and scaling of trusted AI ecosystems.

The second priority focuses on strengthening broad cooperation in the AI sector. The sides intend to deepen collaboration on developing future AI supply chains, including energy infrastructure, critical minerals, a skilled workforce, and resilient semiconductor supply chains.

The third priority is expanding private-sector engagement. This includes increasing venture capital and technology investment, supporting research and development partnerships, developing next-generation data centers, broadening access to AI computing capacity, creating trusted AI models, and advancing other related initiatives.

Through this partnership, Armenia and the United States aim to shape an AI future that serves the people of both countries, strengthens their economies, and reflects their shared values of entrepreneurship, innovation, and the rule of law.

The Joint Statement on the Partnership for AI Opportunities was also signed by member countries of the initiative and other states invited as observers.
