Constitutional Court hears election complaints

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Constitutional Court has begun examining applications filed by seven political parties and alliances challenging the results of the National Assembly elections held on June 7. The proceedings are being conducted in a public oral hearing.

The election results have been appealed by the Strong Armenia alliance, the Hayastan Alliance, the Prosperous Armenia Party, Wings of Unity, DOK, the New Force Party, and the For the Republic Party.

Judges Artak Zeynalyan and Vladimir Vardanyan are not participating in the proceedings after the Constitutional Court determined that they could have a biased position.

At its procedural session on June 21, the Constitutional Court accepted the applications for review and, considering that they concern the same issue, consolidated them into a single proceeding to be heard at the same session.
