Armenia digitizes residence permit process![]() June 29, 2026 - 17:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Starting November 1, the process of obtaining residence status in Armenia will be digitized. Under a new software system, residence permit procedures will be conducted electronically. Applicants will be able to submit residence permit requests through the new platform without visiting the Migration and Citizenship Service. They will also be able to upload the required documents and correct any identified deficiencies online. An in-person visit to the service will be required only once during the process. Amid a growing number of applications, the digitalization initiative is intended to reduce the workload on the system, improve the efficiency of public services, and eliminate the need for applicants to spend time waiting in queues. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
