"We want to begin implementing TRIPP as soon as possible. As far as I understand, the American side wants the same. Now we need to complete the necessary procedures properly so that, I hope, the first work on the ground will begin this autumn, within this year. By implementing the TRIPP project, we will open a railway linking the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea, significantly expanding trade and economic opportunities between Armenia and Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran's trade and economic opportunities will also expand substantially. Taking these details into account, implementation of the TRIPP project sincerely and directly serves the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well," he said. The published document on TRIPP implementation describes the operational framework for the initiative. The framework does not create and is not intended to create legal commitments or obligations for either Armenia or the United States.
