Oman explores Armenian produce imports![]() July 16, 2026 - 16:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The possibility of exporting fresh Armenian fruit and vegetables to Oman was discussed during a meeting on July 15 between Armenia's Deputy Ministers of Economy Arman Khojoyan and Anushik Avetyan, KV Group Director Abdul Waheed, Vice President Muhammad Al Balushi, and Armenia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Sultanate of Oman Hrachya Poladyan, Armenia's Ministry of Economy said. The meeting focused on prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Oman. Arman Khojoyan presented the Armenian government's export promotion policy, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation with the Gulf countries. He also highlighted Armenia's potential in intensive horticulture and greenhouse farming. Representatives of KV Group expressed interest in importing fresh fruit and vegetables from Armenia. During their visit, they are scheduled to tour several orchards and greenhouse farms across Armenia to assess local products and export opportunities. The sides agreed to continue cooperation, organize B2B meetings involving Armenian producers, and exchange the necessary information to identify practical areas for future collaboration. Russia has imposed restrictions on the import of several Armenian products. These include bans on Jermuk mineral water, flowers and certain alcoholic beverages, as well as restrictions on various agricultural products, including tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries. Since June 2, Russia has also restricted imports and transit to other Eurasian Economic Union member states of Armenian cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes and other stone fruits. Since June 3, restrictions have also applied to imports of Armenian eggplants, potatoes and dried fruits. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
