Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey plan joint drills![]() July 16, 2026 - 18:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Under the military cooperation program between the defense ministries of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, a main planning conference has been held for the Eternity-2026 computer-assisted command-and-staff exercise scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan. In addition to military personnel from the three participating countries, the exercise, planned for November, will also involve representatives of the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Facilities of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Railways CJSC. According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, the exercise scenario is based on the tactical-level protection and defense of strategic facilities and communication routes passing through the territories of the participating countries. During the planning conference, participants discussed the exercise's objectives and theme, the composition of the joint headquarters, tactical field scenarios to be practiced, as well as other organizational matters. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
