Anti-corruption body reports new vote-buying case

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Anti-Corruption Committee, together with officers from the Yerevan City Department of Armenia's Ministry of Internal Affairs Police, has obtained factual evidence through a series of operational, investigative and procedural measures indicating that supporters of the Strong Armenia party, acting by prior agreement, allegedly promised electoral bribes to a group of voters in the Masis community of Ararat Province in order to secure the maximum possible number of votes for the party.

A criminal investigation has been launched by Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee. Several individuals have been detained, searches have been conducted, and other procedural measures have been carried out.

Armenia's Constitutional Court has rejected the lawsuit filed by seven political forces. Under the final election results, the seats in parliament are allocated as follows: Civil Contract – 64 seats, Strong Armenia – 29 seats, and Hayastan Alliance – 12 seats.
