State takes control of Araratcement![]() July 21, 2026 - 13:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced on his Facebook page that, following a decision by the Anti-Corruption Court based on a motion from the Prosecutor General's Office, Araratcement has been placed under the management of the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Economy. During July, a manager for Araratcement will be appointed in accordance with the established procedure. “Until then, I urge all company employees to perform their duties conscientiously and responsibly so that no grounds arise in the future, under the procedures established by law, for dismissal or for administrative or criminal liability. All employees who are knowledgeable in their work and perform their duties conscientiously and diligently will continue working,” the minister wrote. The Prosecutor General's Office, while reviewing the mining activities carried out by Araratcement CJSC within its authority to protect state (community) interests, identified possible violations related to subsoil use permits and the fulfillment of the corresponding obligations. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
