A U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident or employer must first file a petition with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Once approved, your case moves to the next stage. Step 2: Continue your case with the National Visa Center (NVC). After USCIS approves the petition, the NVC continues processing the case. Submit all required documents and pay the necessary fees. Your case must be documentarily complete before an interview can be scheduled. Step 3: Interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The NVC will schedule your interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence or citizenship.
