Defrocked cleric visits Civil Contract office

PanARMENIAN.Net - Defrocked former cleric Aramayis Takhmazyan visited the office of Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party but declined to explain the purpose of his visit.

"Please allow me not to answer," the former clergyman said, according to Aysor.am.

Asked by reporters whether he would attend the first sitting of the newly elected National Assembly in place of the Catholicos of All Armenians, Takhmazyan replied that "it will become clear that day."

"You can direct that question to the National Assembly. I am not answering," the defrocked former cleric said.

It was reported earlier that the Catholicos had not received an invitation to attend the first sitting of the newly elected National Assembly.
