Armenia expands agricultural export markets

PanARMENIAN.Net - With the support of government assistance programs, the geographic reach of Armenian agricultural exports continues to expand. Armenian flowers have now been exported to 26 countries, fruit to 21 countries, and vegetables to eight countries.

Additional compensation is also planned for August 2026 for businesses exporting greenhouse products, fresh fruit, and selected categories of food and beverages from Armenia.

To strengthen the competitiveness of products covered by the support program in export markets, and following proposals from exporters, the list of products eligible for compensation in August has been expanded to include Palermo peppers and eggplants.

Russia has imposed restrictions on imports of several Armenian products. These include bans on imports of Jermuk mineral water, flowers, and certain alcoholic beverages. Restrictions have also been applied to a number of agricultural products, including tomatoes, cucumbers, and strawberries. Since June 2, Russia has restricted the import and transit through Armenia to other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states of cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes, and other stone fruits. Since June 3, it has also restricted imports of eggplants, potatoes, and dried fruits originating from Armenia.
