Turkey and Nakhichevan agree on constructing a gas pipeline

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic and Turkish region of Izmir and have signed a memorandum of understanding on constructing a gas pipeline.



Two parties will also sign a memorandum on supplying 0.5 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas to Igdir through the pipeline, said Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz. BOTAS Turkish company and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCA) will conduct talks over the technical, commercial and legal details concerning the project. Company experts are to meet in Ankara this September.



"Turkey and Azerbaijan have practically agreed upon the transit prices on gas. During the second phase of the program, the gas extracted from Shah Deniz will be delivered to Europe via Turkish territory. After resolving some technical problems, a large-scale document concerning certain details will be signed," "Novosti Azerbaijan" quotes SOCA President as saying.
