BSEC is an intergovernmental organization, which brings together 12 states from the Black Sea region and the Balkans (Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine). Organization was founded on May 1, 1999, based on the Agreement on Black Sea Economic Cooperation. BSEC chairing state is Azerbaijan, which will hold chairmanship till October 31, Azerbaijani APA news agency reports.
