Georgian-Armenians ask Armenian government to protect them from Georgians and Azeris?August 18, 2009 - 14:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In a letter addressed to RA Government, Georgian-Armenians request protection from Georgians and Azeris, "Грузия Online" reports, quoting Akhali Taoba newspaper. The letter was signed by some of Armenians living in Kvemo Kartli. In the meantime, Advisor to Georgian President Van Bayburt who is "familiar with the letter" states that the statement contained therein is false. According to him, the authors have used the term Samtskhe-Javahk-Tsalka, thus falsifying not only history but also geography. That term, Georgian official said, was used only by "United Javahk" Russian-funded organization which pursues specific purposes.Bayburt also denies any kind of resistance between Armenians and Azeris residing in Georgia. With regard to Tsalka, he "rules out possibility of any claims by Armenia, as he finds Yerevan is perfectly aware of the situation, so the issue can never become subject to discussion."
