Society of Turks Meskhetian Watan to leave Azerbaijan next year

PanARMENIAN.Net - From next year the society of Turks Meskhetians Vatan (Motherland) will terminate its activities in Azerbaijan, Ibrahim Burkhanov, head of the society, told the Georgia-on-line news agency.



According to him, by the decision of the Georgian government some ten thousand Meskhetian Turks, who lived in Azerbaijan, began returning to their ancestral lands. "This will result in terminating the activities of our society," he said.



Ibrahim Burkhanov also reported that in May 2010 he will leave Azerbaijan and will continue his activities in Georgia.
