ARMENIAN ASSEMBLY OF AMERICA HEAD ASKS US PRESIDENT TO PAY ATTENTION TO SECURITY OF ARMENIAN PRIESTS IN BETHLEHEM CHURCH OF NATIVITY

PanARMENIAN.Net - The head of the Armenian Assembly of America John Jamian has addressed the President of the US a letter stating his concerns regarding the fires on the Armenian churches in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Jamian has reminded that as a result of the fire on the church of the Nativity novice of the Armenian monastery Armen Sinanian was wounded. Several Armenian priests are still in the complex of the Church of Nativity that is still blocked. The letter notes they need food and medicine. The head of the Armenian Assembly has appealed to George Bush urging to «entrust the Secretary of State Colin Powell, who continues his mission in the Middle East, to pay attention to the issue of security of the Armenian priests».
