Repaired school in Kapan re-openes its doors on the Day of Knowledge

PanARMENIAN.Net - The opening ceremony of the school was attended by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, minister of science and education of Armenia, governor of Syunik Suren Khachatryan and president of the Board of Directors of the MonArch concern, sponsored rehabilitation of the school Sergey Hambartsumyan .



Armenia's president in his speech said that education is of state importance. Despite the fact that hundreds of millions the government allocates to the education sphere, there still unresolved questions, he said.



The head of the regional administration of Syunik Suren Khachatryan also informed that Sergey Ambartsumyan also contributed $ 250 thousand for buying agricultural machinery for the region.



For his contribution to the development of Syunik Sergey Hambardzumyan was awarded Aksel Bakunts Medal.



Saying that "investment in children are the most promising deposits", Sergey Hambadzumyan promised he would attend the opening of another school.



This year in 107 children will attend first grade classes and the total number of students enrolled in 24 classes of the school will be 490. In April-August of 2009, the school was carried out major repairs thanks to means (316 million AMD) provided by the philanthropist Sergey Hambartsumyan. The school also bought new furniture.
