South Caucasus should not expect from world players the solution of regional problems

PanARMENIAN.Net - Caucasian countries should not expect that world players will solve the problems of the region, Nikolai Zlobin , director of Russian and Asian Programs at World Security Institute (USA) told an international conference on "Security in South Caucasus: Fulfilling interests of peoples of the region" in Yerevan.

"Today the role and responsibility of the countries of the South Caucasus is changing. Global players lost their monopoly on the global agenda, and the political elites of the region have a chance to define their place in the world, " the political analyst said. According to him, if the Caucasus is not able to get out of this vicious circle, it will " remain forever a hostage to foreign interests".
