VANADZOR CHEMICAL COMPLEX TO RESUME WORK WITHIN NEXT TWO-THREE MONTHS

PanARMENIAN.Net - The leadership of «Zakneftegazstroy-Prometheus» company, which owns Vanadzor chemical complex, has managed to come to agreement with «Gazprom» Russian concern to reduce the prices of gas being supplied to fulfill the enterprise's needs. At the press conference held today Minister of Trade and Economic Development of Armenia Karen Chshmaritian stated an agreement was reached that would let resume the work of the industrial giant within 2-3 months. As it is known, just the high cost of gas makes the chemical complex production not competitive at the international market. In the Minister's words, it is realistic to provide the profitability of the chemical complex at the price of $35-40 per a cubic meter. And «Gazprom» sells a cubic meter of gas at the price of $55. Considerable concessions by «Gazprom» will be compensated in the form of supply of the enterprise production.
