Bakur Karapetyan: Zangezur is an obstacle to Turkey's plans

PanARMENIAN.Net - In a letter addressed to Russian, French and U.S. Presidents, Head of Shushi foundation Bakur Karapetyan has focused on Karabakh-controlled territories between Armenia and NKR. Expert believes that Azerbaijan plans to populate the territories with families of soldiers and storm troopers for waging a partisan war against Zangezur (Syunik region) and Nagorno Karabakh Republic. In Turkish-speaking countries' recent summit held in Nakhichevan, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev declared of his intention to occupy Zangezur.



"Turkey has plans to merge two Turkish speaking states into an empire, and Zangezur appears the only impediment," says Karapetyan in his letter.



Expressing belief that Turkish Azerbaijani plans pose serious threat to the region, he calls on OSCE MG Co-Chairs to consider above-mentioned circumstances and prevent realization of Turkish-Azerbaijani program.
