According to research results, 1,5% poverty rate decrease was registered in Armenia in 2008 to comprise 23,5% (760 thousand people). "Which means 23,5% of Armenia population are living below poverty line, so poverty is still a crucial issue with the country," Armenian National Statistic Service Chairman Stepan Mnatsakanyan noted, adding that the research will allow RA government to develop corresponding strategy along the lines specified.
