RA Minister of Sports summed up 2009 results

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2009, RA Ministry of Sports resolved all existing problems, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Armen Grigoryan told today a news conference in Yerevan. In 2007, there has been 7-10% increased interest in youth sport he said. "Our young sportsmen have this year won 41 medals in international competitions, compared to last year's 27. Besides the number of children going in for sports has increased to 43 715," Minister stated.



Touching on the achievements of adult sportsmen, Grigoryan said that they managed to win 119 medals by October and by the end of the current year , they are expected to participate Weightlifting Championship, European Youth Judo Championship and World Wushu Championship. "Let me note that during 2008 Olympic Games our sportsmen won 108 medals," Grigoryan said, adding that in 2009 Armenia organized massive sport development events.
