Cooperation between Armenian and Belgian Parliaments to develop economic tiesNovember 18, 2009 - 16:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 17. Armenian Ambassador to Belgium Avet Adonts met with President of Belgian Chamber of Representatives Patrick Dowell. Parties highly assessed bilateral cooperation, focusing on collaboration between two countries' Foreign Ministries and Parliaments.Head of Belgian Parliament attached special importance to readmission agreements signed in July 2009, as well as furtherance of traditional economic cooperation. Parties agreed that parliamentary cooperation would contribute to development of Armenian-Belgian economic ties. Upon the guest's request, Armenian diplomat briefed on Armenia's economic situation, as well as Armenian-Turkish rapprochement and Karabakh peace process. Adonts also highlighted the importance of South Caucasian region as a priority in the period of Belgium's chairmanship in 2010. With regard to Armenia's implementation of Eastern Partnership program, Adonts stressed the importance of EU member-states' assistance in simplification of visa regime between EU countries' and Armenia, as well as free-trade talks, RA MFA press service reports. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
