"For about a year the Republican Party has advocated the view that the Prime Minister cannot be a member of any political party. Now it assumed a different position," Stepan Safaryan, head of Heritage parliamentary group, told a news conference in Yerevan. MP from the Republican Party Karen Avagyan, for his part, denied reports that the Prime Minister's move was prompted by the Republican Party's decision. "Everyone decides for himself which party to join," he stressed. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
