ORBELIAN FUND TO AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS TO YOUNG TALENTED ARMENIAN MUSICIANSFebruary 19, 2002 - 22:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - February 16-20 the listening for "international exchange scholarships", awarded by "Orbelian fund" will take place in Yerevan. The Fund the president of which is Stanford University professor, Russian State chamber orchestra conductor and head Constantine Orbelian is established in Los Angeles and is to assist young talented musicians. The scholarships are awarded in Yerevan, St Petersburg and Moscow. This year there is also a scholarship for Gyumri.The listening is carried for two age groups for the following professions: piano, violin, cello, wind instruments and vocal. Orbelian will hear each candidate for scholarship and he will personally appoint the awarded musicians. The $4 thousand scholarship fund will be awarded. The first award is $1200 and solo concert.
