Valdis Zatlers: Armenians contribute to Latvia's developmentDecember 11, 2009 - 17:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Latvian President Valdis Zatlers Friday visited Holy See of St. Echmiadzin to meet with Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II.Welcoming the guest, Catholicos stressed AAC's paramount role in Armenians' life. "We are happy that Armenians in your country enjoy the right to religious freedom. Latvia currently has an Armenian church and a Sunday school which will hopefully become an everyday school," the Catholicos noted. Thanking the Patriarch for warm meeting, Latvian President said, "As law abiding citizens of Latvia, Armenians contribute to the country's development." Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
