Tehran offers mediation on Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran is ready to act as a broker in the ongoing Nagorno Karabakh peace process, Iranian Foreign Minister said.



"The situation in South Caucasus and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict were the key issues of our talks," Mr. Manouchehr Mottaki stated after the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.



"We discussed a wide range of issues relating to bilateral and regional cooperation," Mammadyarov said, for his part.



"Iran is our neighbor, and we hope it keep up efforts for re-establishing peace and stability in the region," he said, Trend news agency reported.
