  Turkey wants to neutralize Armenia as regional factorDecember 16, 2009 - 13:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey's banning the Pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) will hardly affect the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement, according to expert Armen Aghayan. "These are two separate processes, not related to each other," he told a news conference in Yerevan on Wednesday. "The banned pro-Kurdish party was the parliamentary political force supporting ratification of Armenian-Turkish protocols. That's quite natural, since protocols would enable Kurds to come in possession of Western Armenia," Aghayan said. At that, he noted that disturbances caused by banning DTP will not push Ankara to additional steps towards Armenia. "Turkey has nothing to prove to international community. It's goal is to neutralize Armenia as a regional factor," Aghayan concluded.   Top stories Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
