Iran: Karabakh issue will be settled only through talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Nagorno-Karabakh issue will be settled only through talks adding foreign forces do not wish that the issue be resolved swiftly.



In a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Tehran, Larijani pointed out to developments in the region and Caucasus and said, "deployment of foreign troops in the region only makes the issue more complicated which is not favorable to any regional country." He also called for further cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan on oil, gas, energy, banking and electricity.



Elmar Mammadyarov on his part said the Republic of Azerbaijan is willing to resolve the issue of Karabakh through talks, ISNA reported.
