Armenia to host gender equality conference on December 21

PanARMENIAN.Net - A conference devoted to equal rights and opportunities for men and women is scheduled on December 21 in Tsakhadzor resort town



The conference is aimed at supporting the draft law guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities for men and women, according to Gina Sarkisova, Coordinator of UNFPA-funded project aimed at combating gender violence in South Caucasus. "The bill will be soon submitted to Parliament's consideration and approval," she told today a seminar on "Gender Equality and the Women's Empowerment in Armenia".



Against Gender Violence in South Caucasus is one of regional projects aimed at elaborating policy and ensuring civil society's involvements in its implementation, control and evaluation. Project implementation period is 3 years.
