CSTO Secretary General and EU special representative discuss situation in South CaucasusDecember 24, 2009 - 13:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha and EU special representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby discussed situation in South Caucasus. The parties exchanged views on security provision in the region.The meeting focused on Armenia-Turkey rapprochement issues, Karabakh conflict settlement and the situation in South Caucasus after August 2008 events. Nikolay Bordyuzha briefed Peter Semneby on CSTO assessments of issues discussed, as well as his vision of perspectives for Caucasus situation stabilization. The Swiss diplomat spoke about CSTO activities in this direction as well as plans of implementation of programs within Eastern partnership. The parties emphasized the importance of the meeting and agreed to continue contacts into the future.
