Iran trying to prevent Turkey from becoming regional leader

PanARMENIAN.Net - Intensification of Iran's policy towards Armenia was caused by the launch of Armenia-Turkey rapprochement process, Constitutional Right Union party leader Hayk Babukhanyan said.



As he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter during a news conference in Yerevan, Iran has repeatedly expressed willingness to become a mediator in Karabakh conflict settlement. "Tehran intensified activities to prevent its principal rival from becoming a major regional actor," he said.
