Mika plays draw second time in friendly match

Silver medalist of Armenian football championship FC Mika after training camp in Tsakhkadzor went to Antalia. Armenian club held 2 friendly matches there.



In the first match Mika played a draw with the Kazakh Ordabas. On January 27, silver medalist of Armenia met with the Uzbek Pakhtakor and the match also ended in a draw (0:0).



As the club’s spokesman Ashot Martirosyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net nearly all footballers played in the game. Next match Mika will hold on February 1 with the Romanian ''Internationale''.



Mika was founded in 1999 on the basis of the merger of Mika F.C. and Kasakh Ashtarak by the owner of Armavia Airlines, Mikhail Baghdasarov. Under the merger, the name of the new club became Mika-Kasakh Ashtarak. However, the merger only lasted for 1 year, and starting year 2000, the two clubs separated. Kasakh Ashtarak kept its name, logo, history and statistics, while Mika settled for being a new club. This began the era of Mika F.C. Ashtarak.



In 2007, Mika was relocated from Ashtarak to Yerevan. The club has already built its own stadium in the heart of Yerevan and uses it for domestic and European competitions. It has won 5 Armenian Cups and 1 Armenian Supercup since its foundation and is considered to be one of Armenia's top teams. As a Cup holder, Mika participated several times in UEFA Cup qualification matches, the best result was 2-nd qualifying round in 2007, as the club passed MTK Budapest, however did not advance by losing to Slovak club FC Artmedia.
