Yerevan, Moscow sign cooperation agreements

A Russian delegation headed by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov arrived in Yerevan Friday on a formal visit.



The meeting between Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan and Yuri Luzhkov was followed by a solemn ceremony of signing two cooperation programs: one between Kentron community of Yerevan and the Prefecture of the Central Administrative District of Moscow and the other - between Avan community of Yerevan and the prefecture of the Northern Administrative district of Moscow. The programs were signed by the district governors and prefects representing both sides.



Besides, Mayors Beglaryan and Luzhkov signed an agreement on developing trade-economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian-cultural cooperation between Yerevan and Moscow.



The parties also stressed the importance of municipal cooperation.



“We'll conduct joint work to study Yerevan and Moscow’s experience in resolving various problems, particularly social ones,” Yuri Luzhkov emphasized.
