Viktor Yanukovych claims victory in Ukrainian presidential election

Viktor Yanukovych is likely to emerge as the winner in Sunday’s final round of the Ukrainian presidential election. Yanukovich had 48.6% of votes while Tymoshenko had 45.8%, the Central Election Commission said, based on results from 86.7% of polling stations. 4.5% of ballots were cast "against all". Some 1.2% of ballots were spoiled. However, turnout was robust at 69%.
