Food security concept to be developed in Armenia

On February 8, a meeting of the interdepartmental working group developing the concept of food security of Armenia, chaired by the Secretary of the National Security Council (NSC) of Armenia Artur Bagdasaryan was held.



According to the decision of the National Security Council and the order of the President of Armenia the food security concept will be developed and submitted for approval in the first half of 2010.



Emphasizing the importance of food security, Artur Baghdasaryan also said it is necessary to develop the concept, which will address the problem of food provision of the country, both in normal conditions and in emergency and crisis situations, press office of the National Security Service of Armenia reported.
